2017 impact factors released

This reinforces their standing as leading journals in the field of endocrinology and metabolism, reproduction and oncology.

• Journal of Endocrinology has received a 2017 impact factor of 4.012. The journal remains in the top quartile of journals in the endocrinology and metabolism category.

• Endocrine-Related Cancer has received an increased impact factor of 5.331: its highest since 2003. The journal ranks 21/143 in ‘Endocrinology and Metabolism’ and 43/222 in ‘Oncology’.

• Journal of Molecular Endocrinology’s impact factor remains steady at 3.297, with the five-year measure increasing to 3.636. 

• European Journal of Endocrinology’s impact factor has risen to 4.333, once more the highest in its history. Bioscientifica would particularly like to thank Professor Hans Romijn who steps down as Editor-in-Chief later this year.

• Reproduction has a 2017 impact factor of 3.086, with a five-year impact factor of 3.450, a longer term measure of the journal’s quality. We would like to thank Professor Kevin Sinclair for his fantastic leadership of the journal during this time.

• The open-access journal, Endocrine Connections' second impact factor has jumped to 3.041, a continuing reflection of the high-quality research and reviews being published in the journal.

Impact factors are often used as a tool for evaluating a journal’s quality. The 2017 Impact Factor takes into account citations in 2017 to papers published in 2015 and 2016. Bioscientifica also offer additional metrics for assessing journal and article quality and impact. All journals have article-level metrics which provide traditional usage data as well as Altmetric data.
