Changing the diagnosis of gestational diabetes may reduce harm for mothers and babies

Research into the treatment of gestational diabetes, as published in The New England Journal of Medicine, indicates that using a lower blood-sugar threshold for diagnosis increases the number of mothers receiving treatment which may result in fewer risks and complications.
