Diabetes risk and insulin resistance in women is increased with poor sleep quality

A new study published in Diabetes Care suggests that sleep deficit may increase diabetes risk in women. Women who missed just 90 minutes of sleep over 6 weeks had a 12% increase in fasting insulin levels. The study highlights the importance of sleep quality for improving blood sugar control and reducing diabetes risk in women.
