Dry eyes may be explained by loss of sex hormones as we age

Meibomian gland disorder, a common disorder in older people which causes dry eyes, may be due to loss of sex steroid hormones, according to research published in Nature Aging. The research indicates that the non-steroid agent nicotinamide mononucleotide may be effective in alleviating the dryness.
