The School of Biological Sciences at the University of Reading is offering a graduate teaching assistant (GTA) position that allows the candidate to register for a PhD that is fully funded through part-time teaching work with the University. The successful candidate will contribute to student learning in the School of Biological Sciences, undertake teaching activities and provide appropriate guidance and feedback to students as required.
The post is for a fixed period of 4 years during which the post holder must be registered as a full-time doctoral student and they will be paid a salary and stipend equivalent to the Research Councils’ studentship rate and will have PhD fees waived at the home level.
The PhD project will broadly investigate neuropeptide signaling using the nematode C. elegans as a model and provide the candidate with experience in a wide range of molecular techniques.
