Scientists have found a link between the bacteria in the gut of infants and the risk of developing type 1 diabetes. According to a study published in Diabetologica, infants at risk had inflammation causing Bacteroides and Porphyromonas in their gut, as well as Enterococcus, Gemella, and Hungatella bacteria.
