Increases in childhood liver disease linked to prenatal exposure to chemicals in consumer products

Research carried out by Mount Sinai, partly funded by the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme, has shown a link between foetal exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals and the development of non-fatty liver disease. The findings, published in JAMA Network Open, were of particular significance, as this is the first time the potential impact of exposure to these chemicals has been studied in humans.
