Register to join the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) team for a webinar, on Thursday 25 November at 12.30-13.30pm, looking at the findings and recommendations of the GIRFT national report for endocrinology and endocrine surgery.
Hosted by the report co-authors, Professor John Wass, GIRFT’s clinical lead for endocrinology, and Mark Lansdown, GIRFT clinical ambassador, this webinar will discuss how the recommendations in the report can support elective recovery and the aims of the National Outpatient Transformation Programme (NOTP).
Professor John Newell-Price, professor of endocrinology and consultant endocrinologist at the University of Sheffield, and Radu Mihai, president of the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons (BAETS), will present on the growing evidence that consolidating thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pituitary surgery can lower the rate of complications, improve outcomes from surgery and reduce the length of time patients stay in hospital, which is especially important for elective recovery post COVID-19.
Antonia Brooke and Helen Doran will join the panel to discuss the current challenges for the specialty and the potential impact of the report’s recommendations.
