Low vitamin D levels linked to risk of cardiovascular events

According to research presented in Nutrients, low levels of vitamin D were associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events. The study followed participants for 14 years, and also noted a correlation between better vitamin D levels and a reduced risk for cardiovascular disease. Further research is recommended.
