Neuroblastoma drug may be repurposed to treat diabetes

According to a study published in Cell Reports Medicine, a drug called α-difluoromethylornithine (DFMO) has shown promising results in treating type 1 diabetes in a pill form in a mice study. The drug has previously been used for African Sleeping Sickness, and in neuroblastoma maintenance therapy.
