Diabetes patients with cognitive problems, and taking dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, were found to have slower cognitive decline and less amyloid beta in their brains. These findings, published inĀ Neurology, suggest that DPP-4 inhibitors may have a protective effect for patients with diabetes and dementia.
