The mechanism underlying the association between migraines and reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes, may be linked to pancreatic peptides that are involved in insulin production. Recent research, to be presented at the American Chemical Society, suggests that calcitonin gene-related peptide and pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide may be the key to future diabetes treatments.
