In excellent news Nuffield Department of Women & Reproductive Health at the University of Oxford, whose Centre lead is Society member Professor Fadil Hannan, has received a gift of £9m to help continue its research into the role of hormones in human milk production.
In 2023 Professor Hannan was awarded the Clinical Endocrinology Journal Foundation Lecture Award, and delivered a talk on the impact of hormonal changes in initiating the production of breast milk at SfE BES in Glasgow.
The donation comes from the Swiss Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation which promotes breastfeeding and supports research in human milk and lactation.
