We are delighted to announce that the European Thyroid Journal achieved a Journal Impact FactorTM of 4.7, which is a 15% increase on its 2021 figure. The journal has climbed 30 places to rank 42nd out of 145 journals in the SCIE category of ‘Endocrinology and Metabolism’.

We are also proud to announce two journals receiving their first Journal Impact FactorsTM.

  • Reproduction and Fertility has received its first Journal Impact FactorTM of 2.1 after only a short period of publishing, which reflects the quality of this growing journal.
  • Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Case Reports has received its first Journal Impact FactorTM of 0.9, which makes it one of the leading case reports publications dedicated to endocrinology and metabolism.

Simon Buckmaster, Senior Publisher at Bioscientifica said:

“We are delighted to see such great stories emerging from the latest Journal Citation ReportsTM. The European Thyroid Journal has significantly increased in citation impact following the journal’s conversion to gold open access publishing at the start of 2022; and both Reproduction and Fertility and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Case Reports have received their first Journal Impact Factors.

On behalf of the Bioscientifica team, I want to thank our community of authors, reviewers and readers for the support and engagement, and our journal editors for their hard work and dedication.”

The Journal Impact FactorTM is a citation metric often used as a proxy measure for a journal’s usefulness and quality, created by measuring the number of times an average paper is cited within a year. The 2022 Journal Impact Factors are based on citations in 2022 to papers published in 2021 and 2020. Alongside this metric, Bioscientifica offers additional insights to help assess journal and article quality and impact. All journals provide article-level metrics, which provide traditional usage data, as well as Altmetric data.

Bioscientifica redistributes any profits from publication back to the Society for Endocrinology to help support biomedical research and practice.
