Men with obesity lose more weight with cash incentives, research says

A UK-based trial presented at the European Congress of Obesity has suggested that financial incentives may be an effective way to encourage men with obesity to lose weight. The study found that those offered cash lost 4.8% of their body weight, with the cohort offered messages of support with no financial motivation lost 2.7%.
