Semaglutide found to lower alcohol intake in rat study

German researchers have suggested that popular diabetes and obesity weight-loss drug semaglutide may have a use as medication for alcohol dependence. The study, published in eBioMedicine, found that rats given the drug halved alcohol relapse drinking and alcohol intake.
