Study links premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) to risk of mortality

According to research presented at the 26^th European Congress of Endocrinology, women who experience early menopause or POI are at increased risk for all-cause, cardiovascular and cancer mortality. The study concludes that further research is needed to assess the use of hormone replacement therapy to reduce mortality risk.
