Increased risk of death in transgender people partly due to hormone therapy

According to a Dutch study, published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, transgender women have a greater risk of death due to hormone-related co-morbidities, as well as other causes, than the general female population.


Boys exposed to low androgens during gestation more likely to be gender non-conforming

Boys that were exposed to less androgen during the second trimester of gestation (caused by isolated GnRH deficiency) are more likely to display atypical gender behaviours during childhood, according to a study published in Psychological Science.
