Surgery for hypoparathyroidism sees reduced facture rates

Research published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism has suggested that adults who undergo a parathyroidectomy for hyperparathyroidism have lower fracture rates after surgery, than patients who do not undergo surgical treatment for the condition. The study also found that patients had improved bone mineral density recovery after surgical intervention.
