The UK soft drinks industry levy sees obesity reduced in primary school girls

Data published in PLOS Medicine suggests that the UK’s soft drinks industry levy – which saw a reformulation of sugar-sweetened beverages – has helped to lower obesity rates among girls in their final year of primary school by 8%. Cases of obesity were lower by 9% in deprived schools.
