Low birth weight and high childhood BMI linked to risk of early age at menarche

A study published in Clinical Endocrinology has identified a causal relationship between weight at birth and high childhood BMI and an increased risk of early age at menarche. The researchers conclude that early age of menarche may be prevented with interventions to improved foetal weight and childhood obesity.
