Radioactive iodine therapy linked to increased melanoma risk

A new study published in JAMA Network Open finds that patients who receive radioactive iodine treatment for primary thyroid cancer face an elevated risk of developing melanoma and other skin cancers, particularly in the head and neck region. The findings highlight the importance of skin cancer screenings for these patients.
