About Journal Impact FactorsTM

The Journal Impact FactorTM is a citation metric often used as a proxy measure for a journal’s usefulness and quality, created by measuring the number of times an average paper is cited within a year. The 2023 Journal Impact FactorsTM are based on citations in 2023 to papers published in 2022 and 2021. Alongside this metric, Bioscientifica offers additional insights to help assess journal and article quality and impact. All journals provide article-level metrics, which provide traditional usage data, as well as Altmetric data.
